Apple Cranberry Chutney
Apple cranberry chutney is great for holiday gatherings. Sweet, spicy and tart , it also has a cheery red color that's appropriate for the season. A tightly sealed jar makes a nice gift. Serve with pork or roasted meats.
Apple Cranberry Chutney
Makes about 2 cups
Adaped from Simply Recipes
2 cups chopped apples
1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 Tblsp orange zest
1 Tblsp grated ginger
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
small pinch ground clove
Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil and lower to a simmer. Cover and cook for 20 minutes. If it's too wet, uncover and simmer for a few extra minutes.
Keeps refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
